I've got a e-mail address that gets a lot of junk (very little of which is readable), anyway I was perusing it and stumbled across this (from Steve Harmon "investment guru"). Below is the entire context of his "whatever". I guess he calls it "marketsnap weekly technology investor". What surprised me was the last thing of his that I read he was stressing things like profits, diversification, cash and don't be wowed by technology. He called it his "10 rules for technology investing" Then I read this below (written a scant 2 weeks later). I think he must be a schizo........seriously. Kinda funny, kinda sad. mad2

Imagine walking down the hall at work and passing cubicles and the 'augmented reality' display on the inside of your glasses telling you everyone's name, position, current projects and more. Let's say you're visiting a new city. Get in a taxi and just say "drive." As you go your augmented reality readout tells you shop and restaurant names superimposed inside your glasses. Seeing "Italian, 5-star rating, highly-recommended by friend." At which point you tell the taxi driver stop and go have dinner at the restaurant your friend recommended. Think GPS for people, places and things and that's augmented reality. A glimpse at something we think could be big in the next decade. Another scenario, a school. First day of class, new campus. Your augmented reality system points the way to the appropriate departments in sync with your class schedule. Change your own oil. The aug system shows you step-by-step how to service your car, with detailed readout on order of removing parts and tools required. Built-in wireless networking link to Midas for real-time mechanic 'tech support.' Here's something we've been thinking about with some thought. Like a movie? Let's suppose a movie has different "layers" built into it so that someone who enjoys watching action "sees" more graphic detail of action sequences than someone watching the same movie who enjoys romance. The romance fan may "see" more interaction. Or a family watching the "same" movie with an augmented system would see the movie two ways: 1) the parents layer and 2) the kids layer so that kids don't see the above 'G' rated stuff. Ditto for music. Augmented hearing bleeps the bad stuff for kids or changes the words for regional variances, slang or other interpretations, languages. Looking ahead that's a glimpse of what I see coming...there's more. Got your special glasses yet? We can imagine one day in a few years (ok, maybe 10) when it won't be strange to buy a 'pair of Sony's' at SunglassHut. Augmented of course. In the investor side of this we see applications in military, industry, media, communications and commerce. Most of the action will be in private equity (venture capital) and research at universities.
