Elmer, did you see this article that was right adjacent to the Prescott info?

Future Banias designs might manage between 4.5 hours and six hours of battery life which is certainly an improvement on the current 3.5 hours

we can expect Banias to be pin compatible and contains architecture of the current mobile Pentium 4

This would be quite an improvement over the current Pentium 4-M design.

IDF : Banias & Odem

Intel today has demonstrated mobile Pentium 4 launching in 2-3 weeks time where the speed rev will start at 1.5Ghz. But more interestingly, Intel has release additional information on the Banias CPU which is scheduled to be released in H1 2003 and one of the goals is to radically improve battery life. There are 3 key technologies are adopted for the Banias and that is Aggressive Clock Gating, Special Sizing Techniques and the MicroOps Fusion. On-chip interconnect circuits have been designed optimally for low power use, and front-end and I/O processing is integrated in a new MicroOps Fusion technique. Future Banias designs might manage between 4.5 hours and six hours of battery life which is certainly an improvement on the current 3.5 hours.

Intel has demonstrated the supporting chipset for Banias called the Odem with a mobile Northwood so we can expect Banias to be pin compatible and contains architecture of the current mobile Pentium 4. The demo system consists of a Odem board with a mobile Northwood, SO-DIMM DDR266 and an external AGP card. Also the reference board is equipped with a ICH4-M (FW82801DBM) Southbridge releasing next year which will support USB 2.0. There is another chipset called Montara GML which has an integrated graphics core launching next year too. Also it is too early to say whether there will be a mobile "Prescott" next year.
