geeze, it was just a simple question <g>

It was just my dirty mind thinking.

It was also a pretty lame attempt at a yuck or two.

what does it mean when someone says, "My computer went down on me."

Substitute the word "computer" for wife, or husband, or girlfriend, or boyfriend and think dirty...

Then go back and reread my reply. Maybe it will make more sense.

(A laptop doesn't have to go very far in order to go down on someone...)

I have to remember that most folks are not filty, scummy, scuzballs like myself...

I thought that was the direction you were going with your question.

To answer it... It means something like what happened to your machine last month where you had to bring it in.
It won't restart or it keeps crashing or what ever.
If it's a network server, then many users are effected.

...or it could also mean that the person got really sick and tired of his computer and threw it out the window of his 30 story office building.
Then his computer really went down...
