>I don't think it matters whether they were forced from their homes or not. The land that they lived in was given over to another culture to rule and develop as it saw fit. Had I been a Palestinian at that time, I would have been p*ssed. My country is no longer my country but someone else's. It would not matter how nice the new landlord was......he was still the landlord.
The Palestinians NEVER have been their own landlord. In history, that has never been the case. That land was ruled by the Jews, then the Babylonians, then the Jews, then the Assyrians, then the Romans, then the Byzantines, then the Ottomans, then the British, and now Israel.
>However, I suspect the deep seated fears that the Israelis have over this issue is that they will be told to move..........and I am pretty sure that ain't about to happen.
No, but it might happen that they'll be told to give back enough land that they have 10 mile wide borders, and then the Arabs come and destroy the rest of Israel. I'm sure that'd suck. If you think the Arabs would have any mercy on the Jews the way the Jews have on the Palestinians, think again.
>They weren't screwed out of the plot of land they owned but they were screwed out of their homeland. How happy were the whites in Rhodesia when the country was turned over to the blacks even though the blacks said they could stay and keep their lands?
I don't know about the history there... enlighten me.
