I realized that that statement was a mistake right after I posted it.

I agree that the Palestinians don't want peace- what makes you think that the Israelis don't? The fact that they want security? The fact that they won't leave? Do you understand what the sticking point is between the Israelis and the Arabs, at least from the Israeli point of view?

Because that's not Sharon's primary concern.........he's much more concerned with security. I know what I am about to say next will not be well received; however, I think he is a very dangerous man and should not be in power. There are too many clouds over his past and he feels to be very much out of control.

Obviously, my opinion is based more on anecdote than facts so I am not about to argue and defend it. Nonetheless, I think Sharon is the wrong person for the job, the Israeli electorate notwithstanding. I had thought that they were about to muzzle him two weeks ago but then the far right stepped into the fray and threatened to break his coalition.

I hope the Saudi peace plan sticks.
