so like most everyone else, you are saying that tariffs hurt the american consumer. since you obviously seem opposed to hurting the american consumer, you must be opposed to all tariffs.

that is the shallowness of the argument. we can never, ever, impose tariffs because it's bad for consumers. well let me tell you something, for well over a century in the united states tariffs were the majority source of revenues to the federal government. somehow consumers managed just fine. maybe it was because there was no income tax and the government didn't pick people's pockets, so they actually got to keep 100% of their paycheck, instead of dutifully handing over much of our income to our master slaveowners at the i.r.s.

there is a simple answer to this shallow argument. the income tax harms consumers. having the government pick your pockets before you even get a chance to cash your paycheck means you are a slave. you have no choice in the matter, congress decides if and when they want to "give" us back some of our own money, which is really money they confiscated from us in the first place.

where are all the outcries about the income tax and how injurious that is to consumers?!?!? oh i see. mostly only wealthy consumers are hurt by the income tax, the freeloaders in our society hardly pay any income taxes. no wonder they scream bloody murder when they are going to actually have to contribute to our country for once by sharing some of the burden.
