You have heard of tulip mania and dot com mania now with income trust mania. This will end up eventually putting a hurt on some people. Keep in mind most of the people buying these are older folks looking for income and funds which in turn are being bought by the same aforementioned group. One thing I have learned is when prices drop this same group will panic and start to sell and it will snowball as the funds sell to liquidate to pay out redemptions. It is this latter selling that will create a problem.

My return on my REITS and other trusts this past year has been close to 30% thanks to the bargain pick ups in September. Personally I have sold over half of my REITs and am starting to lighten up on the other trusts. I learned a long time ago that it was best to leave something on the table for others and when faced with good profits to take them before they disappear. Opportunities will always come along and cash is king. After Rubins call in the paper this past weekend I was trying to sell some things to buy a wack of stelco but trying to get the best price it ran away from me and I only go t a fraction of what I wanted. Hopefully it will drop back a bit next week. My prediction this one will be above $10. this time next year.
