I can personally attest to the ML having rated Ciena a strong buy with a price target of $90 around the summer or early Fall of 2000.

ML put an Accumulate rating on Ciena on March 7, 2001 at about $75 and downgraded it to Neutral on June 20, 2001 at about $37.
