Allen> Once in a while I see some ignorant person slam Apple because they see a story that says, for example, that Maine is going to spend millions on Apple computers, software and training.

I think the real issue is there was a time when Apple had a clear advantage to the Win-Intel PC, that clear advantage has close dramatically. Yes, Apple is still easier to use, and their pricing has become much more reasonable as it compares to it's competition, but it appears clear to most people outside the Apple universe, that the battle for market share is over.

There just isn't enough valid reasons for most computers to switch to Apple. Which means Apple will remain a niche computer. Yes an exciting innovator, but can it continue to prosper with out growing? Maybe, until Steve Jobs throws in the towel, then it will get real ugly.
