What do you think the implications of that are? Viterbi FEC is used in many wireless systems, including OFDM systems in use today. Flarion has developed their own FEC algorithms that they claim are better than Viterbi: less circuitry required to implement, less power and more efficient. As you know, Cisco invested heavily in Flarion recently.
