The MAZDASPEED Protege looks pretty cool, but they've got a way to go to beat the Subaru Impreza WRX (227 HP, AWD). Next year, Subaru's coming out with the Impreza STi, which will make closer to 300HP, and of course will have AWD.

I've seriously considered buying a WRX - driven them on two different occasions, and left each time with a big smile on my face, but...walked away each time.
