I agree that it should work well over a large time span and many different markets.

The problem here is that such a system will generate marginal profits - that is my guess. But I believe only such a system can perform well in the future.

Larry Williams sells his "Money Tree" and "Batting 800" courses. What this means is that he found patterns that win 80% of the time - But on historical data only! Most of his trading records show a win% of near 50%, although he seems to win more than he loses.

With heavy filtering of trading systems using patterns, one can find high-performance trading systems that appear to reap in profits. But they just won't work well on new data, as far as I can tell.

I will scan through some of the old threads. My preference however, is to learn by trial and error in developing and testing systems.
