Hi AC, And if we slop in the AOL write-off of matters long ago, poof, goes the 60 bil. Looking at the market cap vs tangible assets and discernable cash flow, lot more write-offs and market caps declines must still take place, time span is relevant only in that like a chemical reaction, slow is more tolerable, but fast gets the job done quickly.

I would imagine some of the 'investment' made immediately after 911 comes under the category of 'cost', as in stuff never to earn a dime of revenue, like a wall around a field.

In any case, we only have to wait. A big investment is about to be made in Iraq, then Iran, followed by North Korea, and eventually, apparently China and Russia. There will be side wagers in Georgia CIS, Sri Lanka, Peru, Philippines, Columbia, ..., and certainly Afghanistan, and possibly Pakistan.

Chugs, Jay
