Singing Christmas carols in school is one of my favorite memories.... When I was 11 years old, one of the neighborhood "good guys" gathered up a bunch of us kids and we practiced singing about ten different carols in the weeks before Christmas.... Then on a perfect windless snowy Christmas Eve, we walked around the neighborhood singing out loud (not too badly by now) <g>, with people peeking out of their windows, mostly pleasantly surprised. The older folks appreciated it the most. The year was 1962, and it was a wonderful experience. If this was done in the same neighborhood this Christmas Eve, I would fear for the safety of the singers. I cannot remember the name of the man who gathered us kids together back then, but I would like to thank him for the fond memories....
