7/12/96 - ATM MAKER USES TECHNOLOGY FROM CARNEGIE GROUP TO BUILD OLYMPIC HELP DESK
CAPABILITIES

CGI System to Keep Olympic Cash Flowing with Diebold Installation PITTSBURGH, July 12 / -- With
thousands of athletes, officials and other dignitaries -- many of them from other nations -- expected to access its automated
teller machines at this summer"s Olympic Games, Diebold Incorporated (NYSE:DBD ) has turned to technology from
Carnegie Group Inc. (Nasdaq:CGIX ), a Pittsburgh-based software company, to ensure visitors to Atlanta can readily
access their cash.

The industry-leading manufacturer has established an auxiliary help desk in the Olympic Village with the specific directive to
handle an expected higher volume of service requests and generally maintain the operational integrity of its ATMs in the
Greater Atlanta area.

Diebold professionals will staff the temporary operation, which will serve as next-level support to the company"s local
customer service engineers (CSEs). CSEs are typically deployed by Diebold on a regional basis to first service machines
directly before escalating the more troublesome incidents to the Diebold Support Center (DSC) in Canton, Ohio.
Technicians at the Olympic installation, who will serve as intermediaries between CSEs and the DSC, will rely on knowledge
bases built with TestBuilder and delivered by TestView, components of Carnegie Group"s TestBench diagnostic shell.

A software tool designed to help customers who rely on field service and support for their end users, TestBench integrates
the knowledge from a company"s manuals, expert technicians, troubleshooting documents and other resources into an
intelligent, automated diagnostic tool. It has two major components: TestBuilder, which allows a customer to create a unique
and specific database of pertinent knowledge to assist the service technician or engineer; and TestView, the delivery
component that leads the user through a diagnostic session by prompting or questioning the specifics of the situation. The
product can also suggest repair options or tests to be performed based on information contained in the knowledge file.

Diebold Service Marketing Director Tom Capelli says the package will be a significant aid to its users. "TestBench will be
used by the Atlanta help desk during the Olympics to provide the CSEs solutions to their technical challenges quickly and
efficiently."

Diebold Incorporated (NYSE:DBD ), headquartered in Canton, Ohio, is a world leader in providing card-based transaction
systems, security and service solutions to the financial, education and healthcare industries. Founded in 1859 as a security
equipment company, Diebold currently provides integrated solutions incorporating its automated teller machines, electronic

Bill, as earning report due @7/22 which we already know what it's like, I don't plan to sell it at loss. I still see this company
will perform better in long term. Client-Server Industry in next
few years will only grow bigger, although service related business
can be risky as CGIX warned.... I wish I have gut to buy more at 4-5
to average down my cost. ( keep my fingers crossed for EDIS....)

I was in and out to California for summer ... being lazy vacationer.
Well...I should keep my eyes open to see what's going on with the
stocks i own..more closely...Keep in touch more often. Let's read
what these three news of CGIX mean...and discuss ..maybe on Monday...
