perhaps the economic value can be seen on a piece of paper, but i fail to see the cultural benefit from this dogmatic adherence to free trade. a culture is what makes a society thrive, not an economy that serves the few.

how about our much maligned founding fathers? after all, they did lay the framework which resulted in the greatest civilization the world has ever seen. for advice on how to run a country i would rather listen to great patriots like george washington, james madison, alexander hamilton, thomas jefferson, john adams, henry clay, abraham lincoln, teddy roosevelt, etc rather than some academic scribbler like milton friedman who has never known what it takes to build a great nation. |
