No, JC, priests have crept into children's beds.

That is a good rebuttal line, Poet.

But take note that you do not say some priests. There are roughly 50,000 priests in the U.S. alone. Certainly, the number of individual priests named as pedophiles or abusers of teenagers is a very small fraction of that number -- perhaps it is in the dozens, or the scores, or the hundreds -- likely less than one percent of the total.

YOU come perilously close to slandering an entire class of citizens -- much in the vein of "all Blacks are criminals," or "All Arabs are terrorists." Even those priests specifically accused have yet to have to have their day in court, except for a small number. None of us know the true dimensions of this problem yet, and it is premature and prejudicial to paint the entire Priesthood with a broad brush of condemnation.

FYI, I am a parent, and I condemn without reservation those priests who have betrayed their trust by abusing children or youths.
