(not directed at Ibexx per se) For those who got on the "Intel buy-at-any-price get-rich-quick" kick early this year, may I suggest a sturdy bicycle. It is good for the environment, and the price is certainly right. Look at INTC now and INTC then -- profit is approximately zero. It has actually underperformed the market by a large margin. For all the cheerleading and catcalls on this thread, those who showed up at this party after everyone and their mother knew that Intel was the stock to buy got pretty slim pickings. I wish some of those persons were clear-eyed enough to realize that their "perfect stock" is underperforming the Dow bigtime ytd97 (not historical, just ytd), with a much higher volatility to boot. Dare I say it, you would have done better putting your money in AMD.

Those who bought in at 20 or 50 or whatever else of course have nothing to worry about, and neither do those who can honestly afford to hold Intel for the next few decades. Both will come out with a nice profit. But will the profit be better than it would have been had they switched their assets to some other stock now, or six months ago? Who knows. But it is not a blasphemous thought, and it should be entertained.

I guess the point of this rambling diatribe is that I think a lot of people on this thread who are, like most of us, medium-term investors, have willingly given up a lot of profits by falling in love with this stock. Even right now, it is not undervalued relative to its historic ratios, and its next few quarters are far from certain. Perhaps if some stockholders were a little more critical of their favorite investment, there would be enough of a sell-off to make INTC a very very compelling value again.

IMHO. Currently not long or short on Intel, though I have been long, very long, and insanely long on Intel at various times this past year.

PS-- An engineer driving a Jaguar? Beautiful cars, but not exactly engineering (or reliability) masterpieces.
