Ironically, 9/11 Bush's best friend. If not for it, this would be a huge scandal. Maybe it will still be in the future. Imagine if Clinton had tried something like this, how the GOP would scream foul. Whitewater was a molehill compared to this very real mountain.
After Cheney has refused to release energy papers where he and his "Task Force" cronies planned how to gouge us all out of many billions and deregulate environmental protection:
"The Natural Resources Defense Council was back in court Thursday in its ongoing fight to wrest information from the Department of Energy about the Bush administration's Energy Task Force. More than 11,000 pages of documents were released by the Department of Energy Monday, but NRDC says key pieces of those documents were missing, and should be released immediately.
NRDC spokesman Robert Perks said the documents released Monday were heavily redacted. "We got 11,000 pages with a whole lot of white space, but we can tell the industry's fingerprints are all over the task force policy plan."
* The papers were heavily censored. As if it has anything to do with national security. I'm sure the word "Enron" appeared many-many times in the X'ed out pages. Plainly, the energy crisis of 2000 was phony, orchestrated, highly arrogant and robbed us all to put billions in the pockets of the Enrons of the world, also creating a phony scare issue Bush-Cheney used to demean Cliton-Gore. Remember "Clinton has no energy policy". "We need 17000 new power plants" and "conservation is not the answer"? Such cynical BS.
Well turns out there was no real shortage at all, Bush's friends just turned off the spigots and jacked up the prices. As cynical as politics and business gets. Price-fixing and collusion which is illegal. Practically a coup d'etat. And just as sneaky and evil as the S+L debacle. Pigs at the troughs undermining democracy and ripping off the US and world economy in a great transfer of wealth and power. If you believe in God, Enron was punished for its sins. But Bush-Cheney have not been yet. That is why Bush-Cheney hope the war goes on for three more years. There will be a time they'll have to face the judge and jury.
