Yeah, this is my problem with Christianity and other organized religions and their prophecies which cause folks to get so "committed" to being saved that the make the prophecies self fulfulling thus we war for thousands of years. Who would follow all that stuff if folks who believe it as much as you did not try to make it come true. So, I believe those words were written by men to get others to do what the words say, and that God is still waiting for us to figure out how dumb we are acting.
