A review of the historical Intellabee outlook:
1. Summer '99: P3 will decimate Athy as Athy won't get past 300 Mhz.
2. Fall '99: P3, with its n(b)otched gates is about to inundate the market with the 700 Mhz leaving Athy bobbing for air.
3. Spring '00: The 1 gig P3 will render Athy useless.
4. Spring '00: Even though Athy beat P3 to 1 gig, P3 owns the 1 gig plus market.
5. Fall '00: INTC about to inundate the market with 1.13 gig P3's resulting in the end of the line for Athy. P4 is absolutely going to blow P3 away.
6. Spring '01: INTC is going to phase out P3 as apparently not only could it not decimate Athy, but it has outlived much of its usefullness given the huge leap in performance that p4 brings. p4 will decimate Athy.
7. Fall '01: AMD isn't playing fair as they've introduced a more meaningful performance measurement than that offered by MHZ. p4 decimates Athy XP in MHZ but is in a dead heat with Athy XP in performance leadership. (Just not fair, we've spent all this cash on MHz and nobody wants to p[lay the MHz game anymore!).
8. December '01: Northwoods are about to enter the market and decimate Athy XP.
9. Spring '02: p4 getting smaller. Athy XP is in serious trouble.

And so it goes...From the INTC perspective, the p3 was unassailable and the Athy was destined to have difficulty getting over 350 MHz...
Nevertheless, we have the same Intellabees singing the same chorus to this day, only now its the northwood about to decimate the Athy XP, the Athy that wasn't supposed to get over 350 MHz...

11. Now the resounding chorus is that T-Bred has slipped, signalling terrible AMD problems at Dresden, and won't be able to compete with p4.

There is a pattern here...p3 never lived up to its hype, p4, contrary to knocking Athy out, is having difficulty keeping pace with Athy. and Athy, contrary tp its predicted demise at 350 MHz just keeps on going and going and going...Nevertheless, same old Yousef, same old Elmer, same old chorus...
