Yousef: UMC is well behind INTC at .13um and 300mm . This will not get better at .10um . This just shows your level of "technical understanding". UMC and TSMC have been gaining rapidly on IBM and Intel in recent years. They have also increasingly focused on developing a fast MPU process. Bottom line: Are you saying that AMD will do worse with UMC as a process development partner than they will with Motorola? Oh, and you seem to have misunderstood a few things regarding the process development time-line; AMD's 95nm/100nm process is well under way - in a joint effort with Motorola. UMC may or may not get access to that (I don't know), but the joint development effort of UMC/AMD is targeting the 65nm node. -fyo
