Hey Gary,
I have not been to an Easyrider Cafe, but my parents have ( on a mission for me ). While they were on vacation in California, and going thru Fresno, they dropped in and checked it out. They were there in the afternoon ( too early to check out the flow). They said it nice inside and all the folks were very friendly. They took several pictures for me as well.I was also suprised with two "Easyrider Cafe" tee shirts they brought back.
It's difficult to evaluate it from just that. I was a stock holder before that time anyway. I recently read one of the brokerage firms making very favorable comments about "Theme Reataurants". I don't recall, but I think it may have been Merrill Lynch commenting.
Based on the growth of some of the other players in theme restaurants, there is a big potential here. I see four things as a positive:
(1) Top "seasoned" management (ex-Pepsico exec.) (2) Prime locations- (read about the Myrtle Beach addition) (3) Name recognition- (4) Bargain Price
For those of you who did not catch the news, I will post it.
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., July 8 (Reuter) - Newriders Inc said Tuesday it named John Martin, formerly of PepsiCo Inc (NYSE:PEP), as its chairman and chief executive officer. Martin replaces Michael Purcell, who became president. "I'm relinquising my position to a man who has a just a tad more experience than I do," Purcell told Reuters. Martin, who served as Taco Bell's chief executive and chairman from 1983 to October 1996, most recently was chief executive of PepsiCo Casual Dining, Purcell said.
Newriders operates Easyriders Cafes in Fresno, Calif., and Myrtle Beach, S.C.
