Pure, highly refined hokum.

"Red mercury" is a term you can find in an alchemical recipe book from the seventeenth century. See: stormloader.com

Back in the bad old days, someone with a sense of humor in Russia used that term to refer to lithium deuteride. See this relatively sober discussion by the Canucks (red mercury is debunked right at the top):
csis-scrs.gc.ca

The reason you want Li6D is explained here:
wso.williams.edu

At fas.org in 4.4.5.3.2.1 we learn "pure lithium-6 deuteride...has the highest energy content per kilogram: 64.0 kt/kg." The scare article claimed "softball-sized two-megaton fusion bombs," i.e. 70 pounds of lithium-6 deuteride packed into a softball and ignited at 100% efficiency -- with a match.

Possible proliferation of tactical nukes is a serious issue, but is no excuse for making shit up.
