I thought it was subtly racist.

I just (woke up and) reread the article. I thought the mau-mau statement was nasty. And I wondered about her insinuation that Roberts was fussing over black men because they were black. But I didn't have a problem with the rest of it. (As you may recall, I also thought the emphasis on race surrounding this event was unseemly.)

I would be interested in knowing Berry's thoughts on why she considers herself African American.
