| TP, As was shown in the post you linked to me, a high ranking Admiral was adamantly against the fleet being in Pearl at the same time. To do so, is a military error, which may be something you know nothing about, but it also happened in a town in France during the war. Some idiot Colonel had every tank under his command into the town square, all lined up like sitting duck, and every one of them along with many US GIs were destroyed, and killed. Having CINPAC headquartered at Pearl was not the problem. Parking our entire fleet in the confined area of the harbor, was military suicide. The damage, and loss of life, could have been prevented had the fleet been deployed properly, with only a portion of it in port at the same time. What you think is still immaterial to me. |
