That's a crock, E. Proteins are also found in plants. Proteases (which "digest meat") are the enzymes which break proteins down into their constituent amino acids. They are found in the stomach and small intestine.

For humans, there are 10 "essential" amino acids. "Essential" means that your body cannot synthesize these amino acids from other chemicals in it. They must come from the diet and your body must be capable of breaking down proteins (plant or animal) to get them.

If you don't get them, you die.
