That post was a major disappointment Joseph.

Have you ever actually read the lives of the founders....men & their wives....who wrote our famous documents & participated in the development of this country??

John Adams, one of our earliest presidents, wrote every day to his wife asking her opinions when he attended the gathering in Philadelphia where Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. She responded every day as well with her feelings about the responsibility the new nation would have to ALL its citizens.

Possibly, you've read something about Benjamin Franklin's life when you mention ladyfriends other than wives.....he was a scalawag when it came to the ladies & the exception rather than the rule among the founders in that regard. Ben redeemed himself by establishing the first library in the country & inventing eyeglasses.

Thos Jefferson was a young widower & his daughter acted as his hostess while he was president.

The group of men who initially drew up the prototype of the new democratic republic were well educated. They were the sons of landowners.....as were their wives. So, therefore they had more education than the average woman of their day. They were of great influence to their husbands to the benefit of the new nation. Any civilization that ignores & suppresses the input of its females results in a brutal, savage, uncivilized culture. The most extreme example is the Mid-east.
