Rather, it had a proxy imperialism behind it. British colonial power was the absolute condition of Jewish colonization. As it was the power behind the rise of various Arab chieftains who rose to dominate their rivals and people of other ethnicities and cultures. Which is why some 30% of Iraq is Shiite Arab... The geographic boundaries were arbitrarily drawn, and leaders supported who the British felt they could "control"..
