Getting through with the cell phone was definelty a mistake - maybe the device wasn't turned on or something. Everyone asks me if I carry a card from the doctor but in fact I asked the doctor about this and he just shrugged. (neurosurgeons don't really think anything outside of the nervous system is important). I did have a doctor friend tell me that titanium inside would normally not set off the detectors. I have about a wrist watch amount, 2 plates and 6 screws. Coming back on my trip, without the cell phone, I still didnt set it off so I guess its nothing I will need to worry about. Besides, I have a really Frankensteinish scar on the back of my neck that should confirm anything if it becomes an issue.
