<<telecom washout not yet over>>

1) The telcos that happily went on a shopping spree are just now unloading those foreign affairs. It will take up to August to be completed.

2) Telcos have just started to consolidate. See Please Telia/Sonera merge. We still have to see all those small telcs: Belgacom, TDC (Denmark), Telenor (Norway). Telekom Austria, KPN (Holland) and some other minors to merge. It will take a good year for that to complete.

3) Then out of those mergers, Money paid for 3G auctions and the spectrum bought, will have to be sorted out. That will also take up to March 2003 to be sorted out.

4) Technical obsolescence of the present network is going to take a very big impact of the next purchase cycle. This isn't going to be something to be sorted out in an year, but will take the next five.

Under the light of all this "diggestion" that has to be done, do not expect telecom to be the darling of Wall Street too soon.
