Afterall, we are all Americans, right?.....we want to protect our homeland, right? What's more important than that?

Protecting our citizens. That is best done by citizens, not the out-of-control DOD, which can't find it's arse with both hands, and the more money it gets the more war it foments. That's its job, after all. Except it shouldn't be fighting wars that benefit friends of those in government, at the expense of citizens.

Flight 93 citizens protected more buildings and citizens than the rest of the gov't combined.

Ordinary citizens have the common sense to get out of the Middle East altogether instead of getting in the middle of insane arguments just to find a way to unload billions in weapons and graft.

The blowing up of Afghanistan failed to get the avowed leadership of terrorism, OBL, and captured a few prisoners, damaged (maybe) a few tunnels, and moved around some warlords, some of whom are willing to allow what the Ruskies allowed to begin with, education and non-ignorance, instead of what the DOD-sponsored partnership of Taliban forced, ignorance.

The Big Brotherisms of the FBI and Justice Dept has failed to pick up terrorist cells, even tho' it has detained a thousand or so individuals, whose names it will not release, ostensibly to protect those folks who have already been incarcerated and interrogated, but more likely to protect itself against an industrious journalist finding individuals sponsoring some CIA and FBI-based blowback.

The best the gov't can do to justify itself is to claim "Code Red" days, that the boogeyman is out tonight. I'd go further believing some of this if there were even the most basic disclosure, and even the most common-sensical assemblage of Neighborhood Watch. Instead the gov't wishes to arrogate to itself every task that it can dream up, leave the public out of it, except, of course to pay for it. In money and in blood.

Were there a well-supported effort to involve every citizen, it would make some sense, more information would be forthcoming, and more of a feeling of safety would result. As it is, it looks more like the Royal Government believing the public works for the government, rather than the other way around. All we're getting is basically a gun to the head, saying, 'do what I say, or else, and don't ask questions, we know what's best for you, and it's all secret, trust us, even tho my pop gets paid with every military order'.

Even if W were a combination of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Einstein I'd be pissed by that attitude.

Sorry for the rant.

I've just paid my taxes, inventoried my weapons and supplies, gone thru our terrorist incident drill, and I look at W and he's an idiot, clearly controlled by the menagerie, who don't even appear on the scene. Terrorist cells supposedly lurk around every corner, yet the CIA announced the name of the the operative killed in Afghanistan in a press release, contrary to their firmly-held policy, indicating there isn't any retributing expected, a chance that would only be taken by a sane agency if they KNEW where or who these supposed cells were.
