JDS "don't know with certainty where the bottom will be," said Anthony Muller, JDS Uniphase's chief financial officer. "Once we hit the bottom, then we can begin to anticipate what will happen on the way up."

So they are not saying the second half of this year is going to pick up and they will be selling all those boxes.

Additional consolidations and cuts are possible, including layoffs, company officials said.
