However, the settlements are wrong. They are permitted for the crass reason of political expediency, but they are wrong.

I will certainly admit the settlement policy was a mistake. However, as a point of principle, I fail to see why the Arabs are owed back every bit of land they lost when they started the wars of 1967 and 1973, or why Palestine must be Jew-free when Israel has over a million Arabs.
