wei, Actually, LGND's selection of stock is not only another indication that they are confident about future income, but it is also consistant with a move toward AHP. Last time they selected the stock form of payment from PFE, they also took advantage of an AHP line of credit which was paid for in LGND stock (to AHP). At that time they could have again accepted cash from PFE, but instead chose the stock. I have speculated on the movement toward AHP and the negative Phen Fen should have a negative impact on Redux sales and make LGND's obesity programs more attractive to AHP (who has a Redux distribution agreement with IPIC).
