Live up to all the hype? That's a very vague term. There are some performance targets, and they will look excellent / good / ok based on where the competition is at the time.

That's the point. AMD has essentially guaranteed the world's fastest processor, bar none. But as you said, that all depends on where the competition is at the time. Maybe it's kind of like "World Class Yields". It all depends on what planet you're on.
