Sharon is just as much a problem as Arafat, maybe more. I'm not sure Arafat has much real power or influence, while Sharon could have helped the situation instead of what he did, which was to make it much worse after he was elected.

Now, I'm afraid, it's too late for anything to help - it's turned into such a horrible mess over there.
