Joe, Strange, When Intel made the 4004 they did not quite see the micro market. The the 8008, twice as big. So this market was born.
As it has evolved Intel has been able to crush all comers, save one...AMD.

Now AMD is in the position of making a giant killer.
It matters not if those top tier server makers fail to adopt the Hammer.
The Hammer will enable a host of lower tier makers to challenge those top tier men you mentioned. The lower price of the hammer and the lesser margins of these lower tier ppeople will let them eat the lunch of those big iron makers, and by proxy, to eat the lunch from Intel's mouth as well.
