of course, they too fell literally head over heels into the gaping abyss known as "Muffy's Hole".

This constant flow of unsuspecting additions to the managerie was placing an immense amount of pressure on our favorite counter of everything, Ms. Precious. Knowing that the readers are overly sensitive to details, Precious tried to keep count of the number of living entities in the .... well, whatever they're in ... and once each day recorded the number in chalk on the wall of the ... uh ... place. Then, to be absolutely sure she had the correct number, she restarted the count. This, of course, created quite a logistics problem as the numbers kept getting larger. It kept getting more and more difficult to get an accurate count of all those entities as they wandered around their place of entrapment.

Recently, a Nightly News crew in a news helicopter flew over the hole as they were filming a police cruiser during its pursuit of a bicycle thief. Little did they know that small hole in the street would appear in their featured "Film at Eleven", and it would catch the ever watchful eye of one Horatio Sebastini.

Horatio had gained a worldwide reputation as a successful recoverer of lost stuff, and had thus duly earned the nickname "Stuffy".

Stuffy had been entranced by the exciting police-cruiser-chasing-a-bicycle-thief when he noticed the gaping hole in the street that didn't seem to have any bottom to it.

Being an adventuresome fellow, Stuffy hurried on down to where he had seen that hole, and ...
