Opera and golf ...

My wife and I are season subscribers to the Dallas Opera ... just sent in my renewal for the 02-03 season dallasopera.org

and the golf ...
yes, USED to play ---- when I quit six years ago played to a 12hcp but was headed to 15.....
at the peak of my game about 25 years ago best I could do was in the 7-8 hcp range.

but the horses still hold my interest, even tho I bet small and less frequently than in the past.

The two factors I use most strongly in my handicapping are speed and class ......
when I was attending the track 60-100 times per year after retirement I ran my own daily variant.

I make great use of my computer for racing with YouBet now ....
can have a lot of fun without the bother of going to the track.

matter of fact, for the program at one of the local Rotary clubs a couple of weeks ago I gave a handicapping lesson on a race at OP which was to be run later that day .....
got lucky in my presentation and picking ....... ggggggg
threw out the morning line 7/5 favorite due to her inactivity and suspicious distance changes in the preceeding five races ....
pitched the second fav due to cheap class and lack of current conditioning ....
came up with the third fav and a longshot which I reccoed a win bet on both and an exacta box ......

like I said ... got reaaaaaaaaly lucky ......*(even tho I did NOT bet, as it didn't meet my wager criterion) .....
winner paid $50+ and the exacta paid $400+ ....
those Rotarians "think I know something" .... hehehehehe

good to hear from you.
