You sure about this statement. The spike in oil prices might result in the already foreseen fed hike coming earlier than previously thought. Higher rates will almost certainly not be good for greenbacks.

The dollar is considered a heaven relative to other currencies for now. However gold is hitting 2 year highs and I would not be positive that investors would simply buy dollars if Europe is seen as a good hedge in times of international crisis. Not positive but I don't think that European economies are as debt burdened as ours is.
