They Must have something in writting. The canadian statue of frauds requires real estate transactions to be expressed in writting. I have a feeling that Maymac must have some sort of written option agreement some where. A contract is a contract, there as serious consequences to releasing the kind of press releases Maymac has been releasing , without written foundation.
