Hi Crossy, Perhaps you should put yourself in the CEO's shoes: 1) If by great luck he is a Leader by example - He's just told many families they no longer have a job - to justify that horrendous task he's no longer in the business of being a cheer leader.THINGS ARE BAD are perhaps scarred in his mind and forward looking viewpoint. 2)If he is just clever - and missing last years lack of bonus - then he's a sandbagging son of a beech.So that a bonus can be become effective at a lower threshhold of profitability.This will maximize the probability of him getting a guru like bonus ASAP.They've got spoiled kids going to Harvard and Wharton too!gg Put both scenarios together and you've got a senior manager that just doesn't see a turn around - unless some brilliant son of a gun (just like him)"SAVES THE WORLD AND BY GOD DESERVES A BONUS - and oh yea rehires all the cannon fodder that waited for the call back to work. Perhaps simplistic - but maybe pragmatic. Think about it next time you hear that Millionaire sing the blues about business. P.S. It will at least get that next thranche of options issued at a lower price. That too is a good thing.gg Bob
