Market Environment for Stock Picking
( March 28, 2002 - Update)

TTD is finding more high-quality breakout stocks. Investors should be more aggressive, especially techs now. This is a time for investors to be thinking in terms of a new bull market given the lower rates being imposed by the Federal Reserve.

Short-term Bulls - The number of breakouts is increasing and many quality stocks in medical sector are doing well. . Investors should remain alert for more leaders moving out. Right now, many techs have advanced off their lows in September. They have good prospects for moving higher as earnings comparisions in the second half this year will be easy.

Long-term bulls - The Nasdaq had a major fall and many stocks have made bottoms and have turned up. It is a time for long-term investors to be buying stocks. However, try to look for those issues close to new highs and new leaders. Avoid going after battered winners from prior bull market.

Short-term Bears - You should be less aggressive. Definitely, do not chase stocks extended to the downside.

Long-term Bears - Go short only with stocks with a fundamental flaw and in a well defined down trend. The number of big short plays is starting to dry up.
