Good reason to drill in ANWR?

The real reason there is pressure to drill in ANWR is that the oil companies can steal the oil from the American people. It seems the Texas oil cartel got a law passed so that the royalty paid to the American people for their oil will be based on the price that oil is sold to a refinery. The trick is that the oil companies use one subsidiary to drill and another as the refinery, so they are able to sell the oil to themselves for a very cheap price thereby cutting the American people's royalty to pennies on the dollar. The refined oil is of course sold at retail world price.

In the final week of September, 1999, Hutchison got enough votes to end a Senate filibuster and pass a rider that would stop the Department of the Interior from collecting full royalties from big oil companies drilling on public land. Small companies pay royalties on the market price of crude. Big Oil "sells" crude to their own refineries $4 to $5 per barrel lower than market price. That lowers their royalty payment, saving them millions.
