I am not sure about it, but there are several programs that come with Kazaa that you can uncheck as part of the installation process. There may be some spyware that remains, I'm not sure.

I ordered a new Dell last week, and it comes with a few months of MSN free....so I plan to run one PC for downloads and for the kids, and the new one for me....that way the spyware and ads won't affect what I am doing.....

Also, I got a notice from ATT Broadband last week that they are finally finally finally laying new cable in the neighborhood to provide Internet access and other services....so it looks like I may have a fast hookup by year's end. When I was in Michigan over the weekend the people whose house I was staying at had cable modem Net access.... my daughter would ask for a song, I would call it up on Kazaa, and usually the whole song would download in 2 or 3 minutes, or at most 5 minutes. Basically, while we were listening to one song, I would be downloading the next one. The speeds were generally 10 to 20 times faster than the connection I have now. Enough to make this old dog salivate. <g>
