Re: the reason that Intel is hated isn't because they spread FUD

No, it's for things like trying to cram overpriced, underperforming Rambus down our throats.

It's for things like threatening other companies with retaliation if they dare to sell products that compete with Intel's overpriced, unreliable, junk. Why do you suppose Asus was forced to ship their early Athlon motherboards in unmarked white boxes and have no reference of any kind to the boards on their web site?

Why do you suppose HP announced an Omnibook with an Athlon chip, then had to stop shipment (in the US only - they were permitted by Intel to sell the units in Japan) and remove all reference to a "corporate" AMD notebook from their web site?

Intel = crooks who cheat those of us who buy computers.

If AMD were in the same position, they'd probably do the same thing, but right now, they aren't, and Intel is the one committing the crimes.

And that is why (as you pointed out) they're hated and despised.

If things work out with the Hammers, and AMD knocks Intel down to 25% of the market, maybe AMD will start abusing its customers and the situation will reverse.
