There's no question that this PDA is the best thing ever...

I will be gritting my teeth trying not to buy it until the ARM based models show up.

This PDA is really good news and bad news at the same time. It shows that Palm Hardware company will have a difficult time keeping up with Sony and may have to cede the high ground in the PalmOS space.

On the other hand, this PDA ensures the survival of PalmOS (unless somehow Sony decides to become a Pocket PC licensee - i don't think that will happen).

I will wait to buy a new PDA until the ARM based products are here. It would be ALMOST impossible not to buy this Sony product if it were ARM-based. It WOULD be impossible not to buy if it were ARM-based and supported SDIO/MMC, Palm's USB connector, bluetooth and a wireless modem. And maybe do a version that has a cellphone integrated...and a version that is mobitex...

Palm hardware should just OEM the Sony PDA and make these changes and deliver a corporate version of the Sony PDA. They should continue to innovate on the M1xx line to solidify the entry level products.

Hmmmmm, a thought.....given that Sony-Ericson exists, anyone think we'll see Sony-Palm?
