Usually, downtrends end in panic.

Some do...some don't. But what downtrend are you referring to? From the Dec-Jan top or this little move from 1950 COMPX? The latter just looks like a consolidation to me. One which is just about over. I'll be surprised if we have more than another day or two.

Sentiment has a pretty wide range depending on where we are in a rally. There is no indication that we have concluded the rally begun in September. If not, then we need to do that before looking for a serious decline.

If we continue with the September rally then the consolidation was completed in March and we could see significantly higher before this run is over.

On the other hand, if 1700 is broken. You will get your panic selling...
