I think the Seldane/Allegra analogy is too much to hope for. There we had a known "black box" side-effect, whereas the association of albuterol with increased death rates is much less clear, as is whether levalbuterol would not have this danger. I just can't see the FDA pulling albuterol off the market without definitive studies showing a reduced death rate. (And these studies would be hard because it's a pretty small effect, assuming it actually exists at all).
